Awareness-Raising Session on Toxic Masculinity and Violence: Promoting Equality in the Al-Ayadiya District Events

As part of the project "Promote the stability, well-being, dignity and safety of conflict-affected populations and survivors of gender-based violence," Al-Hub wa Al-Salam organization, in partnership with Tahreer Association for Development and with the support of Norwegian People's Aid and generous funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, organized an awareness-raising session aimed at enhancing understanding of gender roles, standards, and equality. The session particularly emphasized toxic masculinity and violence in the Al-Ayadiya district.

The awareness-raising session, held in the Al-Ayadiya district with broad community participation,

provided an opportunity to shed light on gender and equality issues. Discussions revolved around the

concept of toxic masculinity and its negative impact on individuals and society. Challenges faced

by both men and women due to stereotypical gender perceptions were addressed.

Positive models for change were presented by emphasizing healthy and balanced relationships

between genders and promoting a culture of respect and collaboration. The role of education and

awareness in achieving a positive shift towards equality and eradicating gender-based violence was highlighted.
